Tour De Riviera ITT Stage 3

Stage Three and four of the Tour De Riviera was held today, I have processed stage 3, but Stage four will have to wait until Monday night/Tuesday as I am off to Melbourne tomorrow afternoon......

The ITT today was with a difference as each rider was given a time they were expected to race  (effectively a handicap) and the overall winner was the one who beat their time by the biggest margin.....Like a ITT lottery.......

Most people looked very happy at the start of the 12km of pain, I think Marc Bouten was running high on "Belgian National Day" and providing everyone with some light entertainment........Even a Belgian flag was flying from the finish....

PS - Story of the flag: Following the establishment of the three cultural and linguistic communities of Belgium in 1970, a law was enacted prescribing the flag, the anthem and the national holiday day of the Dutch Cultural Community, as it was known then. Here's the flag...

It was at the finish line in case you missed it during the road race!!!

Congratulations to Brent Sword, Nick Jehu and Simon Whitford (who I think were top three........).

Pics will be up at actionpactpix later this evening....There are around 3-4 pics of each rider......and everyone looks very fast!

Here is a sneak peek!
